Since 2014, Campus Manitoba’s online learning platform, eCampus Manitoba, served as a flexible learning destination for hundreds of students in the province. As of today, we’re moving on from eCampus Manitoba with a new name and look. Introducing: eCourses Manitoba.
New website, same great experience
We’re excited to announce the launch of a revamped website providing centralized access to online courses from Manitoba’s universities and colleges. eCourses Manitoba is a new and improved website to help all post-secondary students in Manitoba take advantage of flexible learning through online education. eCourses is going live with an updated registration process, a fresh look, and a broader selection of online courses from Manitoba’s universities and colleges.
eCourses Manitoba will provide the same great experience as its predecessor, eCampus Manitoba. When eCampus Manitoba launched, Manitoba’s Minister of Education and Advanced Learning said that the website “ensures post-secondary students across the province have access to a wide range of high-quality, online learning opportunities to put students on the right track to get the education they need to get a good job, here in Manitoba.” We’ll continue working hard to support all students who use the website.
Expanding online education in Manitoba with eCourses Manitoba
Along with the updated name and look, we’ve expanded the course catalogue to include online courses from professional and post-graduate certificate programs. These programs—such as PACE (Professional, Applied, and Continuing Education) of the University of Winnipeg and Extended Education of the University of Manitoba—provide opportunities for professional development and lifelong learning to all Manitobans.
“The eCourses Manitoba website is a cooperative effort of Manitoba’s public post-secondary institutions to provide convenient access to the broad range of online learning opportunities hosted by our partners,” says Dave Neale, Executive Director of Campus Manitoba.
eCourses Manitoba will continue supporting students who take courses for degree or diploma credit at Campus Manitoba’s seven partner institutions: Assiniboine Community College, Brandon University, Red River College, The University of Winnipeg, Université de Saint Boniface, University College of the North, and University of Manitoba. Students from these institutions can use eCourses Manitoba to save up to $150 on fees they would normally pay to register for courses at other institutions.
Here to help
Visitors to eCourses Manitoba also receive support from the Campus Manitoba Virtual Help Desk, a chat, email, and phone service that helps you navigate Manitoba’s post-secondary system. Since 2014, we’ve helped hundreds of students use eCourses Manitoba to help meet their educational goals.
When we asked students about their experience with the website, one learner had this to say:
[eCourses Manitoba] allowed me to achieve my goals much faster than I ever thought I could. With access to multiple university classes from around the province, I took advantage of classes that fit directly into my program. It was nice not to pay a Letter of Permission fee or worry about whether a course would transfer or not. Any time I had a problem, I simply used their chat function on their website and talked to someone right away. It’s also nice to be able to see all the distance courses from various colleges and universities aggregated in one location. Thanks for all the support!
“The post-secondary system can sometimes be confusing to navigate, but we do as much as we can to help students find their way,” said Kim Grenier Mintenko, Associate Director of Campus Manitoba, who manages the Virtual Help Desk.
